From the opening faceoff, the AllStars Vortex set a relentless pace that the Kraken U13 simply could not match. The first period was a masterclass in offensive pressure from the visitors, who peppered the Kraken net with 25 shots while limiting their hosts to just 16. The Vortex struck first at 9:39 of the opening frame, when Kris Leong (#67) found the back of the net with help from Dory Reiter (#13). The Kraken would answer back briefly, with Zayd Bakali Tahiri (#8) evening the score at 1-1 just over a minute later. However, the response was short-lived, as Dylan Aparicio (#7) scored with just seven seconds left in the period, assisted by Carter Randhawa (#12) and Cole Dulaba (#29), sending the Vortex into the intermission with a 2-1 lead and all the momentum.
The second period saw the Kraken mount a brief comeback. Connor Lyons (#16) scored for the home side at 15:35, tying the game at 2-2 and giving the Kraken faithful a glimmer of hope. But the game’s momentum shifted decisively when the Vortex’s Dylan Aparicio was sent to the box for a tripping penalty at 10:08. Though the Kraken failed to score on the man advantage, the Vortex seemed to use the penalty kill as a springboard. Immediately after killing the penalty, Ezra Moore (#15) scored at 10:46, with assists going to Aparicio (#7) and Charlie Nordheimer (#40), reclaiming the lead for the Vortex and silencing the Kraken bench.
The third period was all Vortex. Dylan Aparicio, clearly motivated by his earlier penalty, took over the game with two more goals in quick succession. He scored at 10:33, assisted by Moore, then struck again at 9:20 with help from Nordheimer, completing his hat trick and putting the game firmly out of reach. Carter Randhawa (#12) added the exclamation point with a goal at 0:53, assisted by Liam Boodhoo (#16) and Nordheimer, capping a dominant 6-2 victory. Kraken goalie Hargurkirat Padda (#11) faced a barrage of 25 shots and did his best to keep his team in it, but the Vortex offense was simply too much. While goalie stats were limited, the final shots on goal tell the story of a game where the AllStars Vortex controlled play from start to finish. The win improves their record and sends a clear message about their offensive firepower.
