Coaches+

Coaches:

Coaches play a crucial role in providing mentorship and organization for their teams. They ensure that every player gets fair playing time while offering instruction and guidance as needed. Most importantly, they ensure that the players are having fun!

Coaches act as the main point of contact between the league and their teams, communicating any scheduling changes or league-related information. While having a hockey background is beneficial, it's not mandatory.

FAIR PLAY PLEDGE FOR COACHES

Teaching Fairness and Respect:
I will instill in my players the importance of playing fairly and respecting the rules, officials, opponents, and teammates.

Equal Treatment:
I will ensure that all players receive equal instruction, discipline, support, and fair playing time, regardless of skill level.

Positive Reinforcement:
I will refrain from ridiculing or yelling at my players for mistakes or poor performance, understanding that encouragement fosters confidence and enjoyment in the game.

Prioritizing Fun:
I will recognize that players participate in ball hockey to have fun and will encourage them to have confidence in themselves.

Ensuring Safety:
I will ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and appropriate for the players' ages and abilities.

Setting a Respectable Example:
I will conduct myself in a manner that earns the respect of my players, being generous with praise and continually setting a positive example.

Continuous Improvement:
I will actively seek to upgrade my coaching skills to better serve my players and the sport.

Cooperation with Officials:
I will work in cooperation with officials for the benefit of the game, fostering a respectful and collaborative environment.

Commitment to Fair Play Principles:
I agree to abide by the principles of the FAIR PLAY CODE as set by Alberta Minor Ball Hockey Association and supported by BHE1 Sports. This commitment to fair play will enhance the safety and enjoyment of the game for all participants.

Compliance:
I also agree to abide by the rules, regulations, and decisions set forth by BHE1 Sports.

ASSISTANT COACHES

Assistant coaches support the head coach in managing the bench, ensuring the players enjoy themselves, and assisting wherever necessary.

BENCH HELPERS

Parents may be called upon by coaches to assist with various tasks or fill in when needed. Volunteering to help out is greatly appreciated and contributes to the smooth running of the league.

VOLUNTEERS

Additional volunteers such as team managers or jersey parents may be required, with decisions left to the discretion of each team's parent/coaching group.
