They stormed out of the gates, peppering the U15 Phantom 309 net with eight shots in the first period compared to their opponents’ four. The early pressure paid off when #12 Brycen Hardy lit the lamp at 13:30, assisted by #4 Olivia Moir and #94 William Gordon. The Phantoms doubled their lead when #18 Jonathan Kirschner found the back of the net at 10:30, with helpers from #8 Adam Shermanov and #10 Nicholas Mudry. However, Phantom 309 answered back when #3 Chase Plamondon scored at 9:12, assisted by #14 Joseph Sousa, making it 2-1. The period ended with Phantom 309 serving a tripping penalty to #8 Kolya Paramor, setting the stage for a Phantoms explosion.
The second period was a Phantoms showcase, as they poured in an incredible six goals. Phantom 309 briefly tied the game at 2-2 when #88 Connor Young scored at 10:50, but the Phantoms responded with a vengeance. Kirschner, playing the game of his life, netted his second goal at 8:58, followed by #14 George Abdilmasih scoring the eventual game-winner at 8:03. The floodgates then opened: Kirschner completed a natural hat trick with goals at 2:55 and 2:03, before scoring his fifth goal of the period with just 25 seconds left. The period ended with the Phantoms holding a commanding 8-2 lead, having outshot Phantom 309 18-2.
The third period was more of the same, as the Phantoms continued their relentless attack. #8 Adam Shermanov scored at 13:38, followed by #10 Nicholas Mudry’s first of two goals at 9:52. Phantom 309 showed some fight with #24 Luke Brake scoring at 8:40, but the Phantoms answered with Mudry’s second at 6:25, Abdilmasih’s second at 4:25, and #9 Michael Abdilmasih’s tally at 3:45 to cap the scoring at 12-3. The Phantoms’ goalie, #85 Benjamin Kirschner, earned the win despite having no official saves recorded, while Phantom 309’s #74 Harper Gagnon faced a relentless barrage of 40 shots. Jonathan Kirschner’s five-goal performance—including four in one period—was the clear highlight, as the Phantoms overpowered their opponents in every facet of the game.
